Another sign of the end time is world peace. The anti-Christ will bring all nations under his control, discreetly (at first), and step one is world peace. Once all the nations are at peace, he can go for the kill and set himself up as a world leader. 

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

World peace doesn’t happen in a day. It can take years, and years. If you hear plots for global peace or control, you can be sure that things are falling into place.
